Consumer and Family Conference 2010: Journey to Wellness: Body. Balance. Being.
Brain injury affects the whole person - including changes in the physical, emotional and cognitive areas of their body. This one-day conference is an opportunity for individuals with brain injury, family members and loved ones to participate in workshops and sessions that focus on innovations in the world of brain injury, care, therapy and rehabilitation. The 2010 Consumer and Family Conference will be held on Saturday, August 28 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Golden Valley from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Click here to learn more. Walk for Thought Online Registration Now Available
The Brain Injury Association of Minnesota is excited to team up with former Minnesota Viking and Pro Football Hall of Famer Randall McDaniel for the 2010 Walk for Thought Sports: Play Hard. Play Safe. This is the Association's first partnering with the Vikings and we are honored and thrilled to be working with McDaniel.
The 2010 Walk for Thought will be held at Como Park in St. Paul, Canal Park in Duluth, Silver Lake in Rochester and CentraCare Health Plaza in St. Cloud on Saturday, September 25, with registration starting at 9 a.m. and the Walk starting at 10 a.m. (10:30 a.m. in Duluth).

Cranestorm-Wishes in Flight

Don't forget to vote in Minnesota's Primary Election August 10, 2010!
Why vote in the Primary Election? In a nutshell, the Minnesotans who vote in the Primary Election on August 10 will decide who will be on the ballot for each political party in the General Election this November.
FACT: Only 11 percent of eligible voters in Minnesota voted in the Primary Election in 2008. This means only 11 percent of the population determined who was on the General Election ballot that November.

Join us at our next Citizen Advocate Academy!
The Brain Injury Association of Minnesota's Citizen Advocate Academy is a series of free public policy and advocacy trainings to you help you become a more effective advocate. Join with Citizen Advocates to learn about health care funding in Minnesota, the state budget and how to impact these decisions.
This Citizen Advocate Academy will take place on Tuesday, August 17 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. with pizza provided. It will be held in the Education Center at the Brain Injury Association of Minnesota. This bi-weekly electronic publication is sent to more than 5,500 professionals, paraprofessionals and persons with brain injury and their families.
The cost to run a classified ad of up to 250 words is $20 for one edition or $30 for two editions. Ads must be submitted in electronic form to receive this rate. Ads submitted in hard copy will be charged an additional $15 administrative fee.
