2012 Walk for Thought a success still accepting donations online
Thank you, everyone, for helping make the 2012 Walk for Thought a success. The four cities that played host to this year's Walk St. Paul, St. Cloud, Rochester and Duluth put all their efforts into supporting this celebration of life, hope and healing. Final numbers are still being tallied and will be available in the near future.

While the Walk itself may be over, we are still accepting donations that will be applied to the final Walk numbers. Get your donations in today! It's not too late! This is our biggest fundraising event of the year and its success affects services and supports throughout Minnesota for individuals with brain injury. 2013 Annual Conference for Professionals in Brain Injury - Request for Presenters
The Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance is busy planning the 28th Annual Conference for Professionals in Brain Injury, which will be held on April 11 and 12, 2013 at the Earle Brown Heritage Center in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. We would like to invite you to submit a proposal or proposals for breakout sessions. Please fill out the form below and list of suggested topics. Proposals are due by Friday, October 19, 2012, but can be submitted at any time prior to that date.

Case Management and Resource Facilitation Position Opening
Case Manager Primary Duties:
The Case Manager is responsible for monitoring and implementing comprehensive proactive; consumer directed systems of support and advocacy for individuals, including all ages and cultures, which have survived brain injury and their families through implementation of case management for effective community integration. The Case Manager will be responsible to assist the consumer in planning and accessing housing, financial supports and other community services and supports needed to accomplish this goal. Bi-lingual/bi-cultural is a plus. Click here for a full position description.

Resource Facilitation Primary Duties:
Responsible for brain injury information, resources and individual assistance through the implementation of Resource Facilitation providing effective community integration of people with brain injury. Click here for a full position description.

Spa...ahh
The Burnsville Women of Today will be hosting its annual Spa...ahh on Saturday, November 3 at the Buck Hill Event Center in Burnsville. This unique event offers a relaxing morning of brunch, chair massages, mini spa treatments, brow and lip waxing, and an array of other wellness based services or activities for attendees, with proceeds directly benefiting the Minnesota Stroke Association.

Vendors Needed for the Consumer and Family Conference
Exhibit your business at the Consumer and Family Conference on Saturday, November 3 and gain exposure to families and individuals affected by brain injury. The event will take place at North Como Presbyterian Church in Roseville from 1 to 4 p.m.

University of Minnesota brain injury study seeks participants
A study at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities is recruiting people with brain injury for a pilot study designed to examine how we tell stories. The purpose of the study is to compare how people with and without traumatic brain injuries build narratives about personal experiences.

This includes one approximately 4-hour session of standardized testing and an interview. All participants will be compensated at the rate of $8 an hour. The cost to run a classified ad of up to 250 words is $20 for one edition or $30 for two editions. Ads must be submitted in electronic form to receive this rate. Ads submitted in hard copy will be charged an additional $15 administrative fee.
