Consumer and Family Conference

Join us on Saturday, November 3 from 1 to 4 p.m. for our Fall 2012 Consumer and Family Conference at the North Como Presbyterian Church, 965 Larpenteur Ave W in Roseville, Minnesota.

This one-day conference is an opportunity for individuals with brain injury, family members and loved ones to participate in workshops and sessions that focus on innovations in the world of brain injury care, therapy and rehabilitation.

There is no cost for this conference. Any requests for reasonable accommodations must be received by October 22. To register, please call our offices at 612-378-2742 or 800-669-6442 no later than October 26.

Make Your Voice Heard on Election Day and Beyond!
The people we vote into office on Tuesday, November 6, will make policy decisions that will impact you and your loved ones for years to come. Make your voice heard by voting for the candidates that best represent your values. To learn more about the 2012 Elections including how to look up the candidates running for office, how to print off a sample ballot and how to look up your polling place, visit our Advocacy Action Center or www.mnvotes.org. If you would like to stay involved after Elections, the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance invites you to attend a fall Citizen Advocate Academy. The Citizen Advocate Academy is a series of public policy and advocacy trainings held throughout the year to help you become a more effective advocate. Trainings are provided at no cost and include a light meal but pre-registration is required. Give to the Max Day
November 15 is Give to the Max Day! The goal is to raise as much money as possible for Minnesota nonprofits in just 24 hours! We hope this year you will choose the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance as the recipient of your generous donation on Give to the Max Day. We appreciate your continued efforts to help us provide supports and services for the 100,000 Minnesotans living with a disability as a result of brain injury. Case Management Position Opening
Case Manager Primary Duties:
The Case Manager is responsible for monitoring and implementing comprehensive proactive; consumer directed systems of support and advocacy for individuals, including all ages and cultures, which have survived brain injury and their families through implementation of case management for effective community integration. The Case Manager will be responsible to assist the consumer in planning and accessing housing, financial supports and other community services and supports needed to accomplish this goal. Bi-lingual/bi-cultural is a plus. Click here for a full position description.

Spa...ahh
The Burnsville Women of Today will be hosting its annual Spa...ahh on Saturday, November 3 at the Buck Hill Event Center in Burnsville. This unique event offers a relaxing morning of brunch, chair massages, mini spa treatments, brow and lip waxing, and an array of other wellness based services or activities for attendees, with proceeds directly benefiting the Minnesota Stroke Association.

Classified Ad - Veterans in Need
A Chance To Grow has teamed up with the Homecoming for Veterans (HC4V) project, a force dedicated to providing EEG Biofeedback training for Veterans in need with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) symptoms at NO COST.

EEG Biofeedback is a cutting-edge tool for individuals suffering from PTSD. It is a drug-free, non-invasive brain exercising technique. Veterans who have been through the program have shown tremendous positive benefits with sleep problems, anxiety, pain, irritability, anger and rage, as well as cognitive deficits. The training can also help soldiers recover from drug, alcohol, and tobacco dependency.

Ads submitted in hard copy will be charged an additional $15 administrative fee.
