Advocacy Matters
Now that the 2012 Elections are over, it is time to regroup and get ready for the 2013 legislative session. Join us at our next Citizen Advocate Academy to learn how our state legislators will get to work in 2013 setting Minnesota's next state budget. The Citizen Advocate Academy is a series of trainings designed to help you become an effective advocate. Trainings are provided at no cost and include a light meal but pre-registration is required. Give to the Max Day
November 15 is Give to the Max Day! The goal is to raise as much money as possible for Minnesota nonprofits in just 24 hours! Case Management Position Opening
Case Manager Primary Duties:
The Case Manager is responsible for monitoring and implementing comprehensive proactive; consumer directed systems of support and advocacy for individuals, including all ages and cultures, which have survived brain injury and their families through implementation of case management for effective community integration. The Case Manager will be responsible to assist the consumer in planning and accessing housing, financial supports and other community services and supports needed to accomplish this goal. Bi-lingual/bi-cultural is a plus. Click here for a full position description.

Brain Injury Basics offered by St. Cloud Area Brain Injury Community Committee
The Saint Cloud Area Brain Injury Community Committee - along with the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance and Independent Lifestyles, Inc. - will be offering Brain Injury Basics. The Brain Injury Basic workshops are geared towards those with brain injury, their families and their friends. Health professionals are also welcome to attend.

The class will be held on Thursday, November 15 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Independent Lifestyles, Inc. in Sauk Rapids.

Registration is recommended. Brain Injury Basics is provided at no cost for persons with brain injury, family members and friends. The cost for professionals is $15. CEUs for 2.5 hours are available.

Classified Ad - Veterans in Need
A Chance To Grow has teamed up with the Homecoming for Veterans (HC4V) project, a force dedicated to providing EEG Biofeedback training for Veterans in need with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) symptoms at NO COST.

EEG Biofeedback is a cutting-edge tool for individuals suffering from PTSD. It is a drug-free, non-invasive brain exercising technique. Veterans who have been through the program have shown tremendous positive benefits with sleep problems, anxiety, pain, irritability, anger and rage, as well as cognitive deficits. The training can also help soldiers recover from drug, alcohol, and tobacco dependency.
