Advocacy Matters Join us at the Minnesota State Capitol
The 2013 Minnesota Legislative Session is an important one as state policymakers will be setting the Minnesota state budget for the next two years and making critical decisions that will impact all of us. This means it is vital to share the real life stories of individuals and families affected by brain injury with our policymakers.
Tuesdays at the Capitol are in full swing! Join us for a Tuesday at the Capitol to share your story with legislators, attend committee hearings, and work with other advocates. For more information about Tuesdays at the Capitol and how to prepare click here.

To receive legislative updates and stay up to date on all of our advocacy events and opportunities this session don't forget to sign up for our Advocacy Action Center at Capwiz. Otherwise, contact the Public Policy Department by phone at 612-378-2742, 800-669-6442 or by e-mail at michelleg@braininjurymn.org or jeffn@braininjurymn.org.

Survey for Parents and Caregivers of Children with Disabilities
You are invited to take part in a research study being completed by Sara Joersz and Rebecca Polansky, both occupational therapy graduate students at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND. This research study will survey parents or caregivers of children with disabilities who are currently receiving occupational therapy services or have in the past. A specific focus would be to gather caregivers' perceptions of occupational therapy home programs, the barriers they may face, and what helps them complete the home program activities with their child.

The survey contains questions about the use of a home program in the family, how it fits with family routines, how and if the child benefits from the activities, how confident the caregiver is in providing the home program, and factors that both improved or lessened the quality of the home program provision. The survey will take about 15-20 minutes to complete, but not all questions need to be answered. Your responses will be kept confidential and no personal identifying information will be used for research purposes.

If you are willing to participate in this study, please click here to take the online survey.

If you have any questions, please contact us at Sara or Rebecca.
