Minnesota Stroke Association 2013 Strides for Stroke - May 4
The Minnesota Stroke Association is pleased to present the 2013 Strides for Stroke Walk! It will be held this year on Saturday, May 4 at Como Park in Saint Paul, and for the first time at Silver Lake Park in Rochester, presented in partnership with Neurological Recovery House.

FOX9 News anchor Jeff Passolt will be the emcee for the Saint Paul event this year. Stroke survivors, care partners, professionals, family and friends are invited for a day dedicated to raising awareness and helping to enhance the quality of life for all people coping with the sudden and long term effects of stroke.

Strides for Stroke is the biggest fundraising event for the Minnesota Stroke Association and it continues to grow each year. Last year, walkers came out in record numbers and it would be great if we could surpass those numbers in 2013. Join an existing walk team, create a new team for you and your friends or just come out to enjoy the day.

Advocacy Matters Join us at the Minnesota State Capitol
What happens over the next month of the 2013 Minnesota Legislative Session is incredibly important; state policymakers will be setting the Minnesota state budget for the next two years. Brain Injury Support Group in Grand Rapids
Anyone living with a TBI or their caregivers are encouraged to attend the monthly TBI support group in the Community Meeting Room at the Central Square Mall in Grand Rapids. The idea of the meetings will be to meet, talk about ideas and problems with work, shopping, getting around or anything that we wish to discuss.

The next meetings will be April 8, May 13 and June 10 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. All future meetings will be held on the second Monday of each month.

Classified Ad: Sports Neuropsychology Society Symposium
This inaugural symposium sponsored by the Sports Neuropsychology Society is designed to meet the needs of physicians, athletic trainers, neuropsychologists, nurses, PAs, administrative personnel, and others interested in better understanding sports-concussions. We have assembled a truly exceptional group of speakers who will cover cutting edge advances in clinical practice and research.

A Chance To Grow has teamed up with the Homecoming for Veterans (HC4V) project, a force dedicated to providing EEG Biofeedback training for Veterans in need with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) symptoms at NO COST.

EEG Biofeedback is a cutting-edge tool for individuals suffering from PTSD. It is a drug-free, non-invasive brain exercising technique. Veterans who have been through the program have shown tremendous positive benefits with sleep problems, anxiety, pain, irritability, anger and rage, as well as cognitive deficits. The training can also help soldiers recover from drug, alcohol, and tobacco dependency.

Classified Ad - Shared Living with 24 hour services for people with a brain injury and/or physical disability

Current or upcoming openings include: a shared house, with own bedroom (Mnpls) and 24 hr. Class F Assisted Living services AND Adult Foster Care (St. Anthony location) with asleep staff at night. Staff is on-site and available 24 hours a day to assist with physical cares, medication reminders, monitor health and safety issues. An RN creates a care plan and trains staff. All housing is subsidized; rent is approximately 30% of income. Residents generally have more spending money! MA funding pays for services via a BI, EW, CADI waiver.
