Walk for Thought
The 2013 Walk for Thought will take place on Saturday, September 7 at Canal Park in Duluth, Silver Lake in Rochester, CentraCare Health Plaza in Saint Cloud, and Como Park in Saint Paul.

Celebrate the strengths and successes of the thousands of individuals who have experience brain injury, along with their families, friends and the professionals who work with them at this year's Walk.

Going to Bat Against Brain Injury at Target Field
Thanks to the Minnesota Twins, this year the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance is celebrating "Going to Bat against Brain Injury" at Target Field on Wednesday, August 14 at the 12:10 p.m. game against the Cleveland Indians.

We would love for you to join us as we gather together to raise awareness about brain injury prevention and its long-term effects. Tickets are $30 each and we have a limited number. The deadline for ordering and paying for tickets is Monday, July 15. Let us know how many tickets you'd like and whether you need any wheelchair seating. Come Celebrate at Brain-a-Palooza
Join Tim Rundall, a long-time supporter of the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance, at the Second Annual Brain-a-Palooza fundraiser on Saturday, August 3. Tim's son Adam sustained a brain injury ten years ago, and the Brain-a-Palooza is Tim's way of honoring his son and giving back to the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance.

The gates for Brain-a-Palooza open at 1 p.m. at the Golden Valley VFW, 7775 Medicine Lake Road in Golden Valley, and the music begins at 2 p.m. A number of bands will be playing throughout the day on both the indoor and outdoor stages, including ZenSome, The Birdtown 3, Vicious Cycle, Thaull & Cadwll, and Simpson Road. Also appearing is special guest, former NFL Super Bowl champion and singer Ben Utecht.

Tickets are $20 at the door and several vendors will be offering food for purchase. Proceeds from Brain-a-Palooza will benefit the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance. For more information contact Tim Rundall at 612-236-8735 or timrundall@yahoo.com.

Classified Ad - Veterans in Need
A Chance To Grow has teamed up with the Homecoming for Veterans (HC4V) project, a force dedicated to providing EEG Biofeedback training for Veterans in need with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) symptoms at NO COST.

EEG Biofeedback is a cutting-edge tool for individuals suffering from PTSD. It is a drug-free, non-invasive brain exercising technique. Veterans who have been through the program have shown tremendous positive benefits with sleep problems, anxiety, pain, irritability, anger and rage, as well as cognitive deficits. The training can also help soldiers recover from drug, alcohol, and tobacco dependency.

Classified Ad: Job Opening - Wing House Executive Director
Founded in 1997 and located in Rochester, MN, Wing House is a 17-bed non-profit transitional care facility assisting adults with a brain injury or other neurological disorders. The Board of Directors is seeking an Executive Director to ensure the smooth operation of Wing House. Responsibilities include overseeing all operations: building management, financial planning, staffing, and residential issues, ensuring that all licensing requirements are met and working in close collaboration with the Board. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of people with brain injury through previous work experience. A Bachelor’s degree with a business, social services, education or rehabilitation concentration is preferred. The ideal candidate will have work experience in a medical, educational or rehabilitation setting.
