Citizen Advocate Academy Hits the Road
The Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance's Citizen Advocate Academy (CAA) is expanding to include the cities of Saint Cloud, Duluth and Rochester. Thanks to a grant from the Otto Bremer Foundation, we are going to be able to bring our four-part series of trainings and advocacy events into greater Minnesota starting in September of 2014.

If you have ever thought about becoming an advocate, are interested in telling your story and are passionate about helping create positive change, the CAA is designed for you! People with brain injury, their loved ones and the professionals that serve them are all uniquely qualified to take effective political action to improve supports and services for people with brain injury and stroke and to help increase the prevention of brain injury and stroke all across Minnesota.

The Advocacy trainings will be held on one Saturday per month in September, October and November and culminate in a Town Hall Forum with local policy-makers on a week night in early December.

You don't have to be an expert on politics or the health care system, you simply need to be an expert on your own life and be willing to share your experience with brain injury.

For more information, contact Jeff Nachbar at jeffn@braininjurymn.org or call 612-378-2742 or 800-669-6442.
