2016 Annual Conference for Professionals in Brain Injury - Request for Presenters
The Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance is busy planning the 31st Annual Conference for Professionals in Brain Injury, which will be held on April 7 and 8, 2016 at the Earle Brown Heritage Center in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. We would like to invite you to submit a proposal or proposals for breakout sessions. Proposals are due by November 20.

Consumer and Family Conference
Join the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance for our Fall 2015 Consumer and Family Conference on Saturday, November 7 from 12:30 to 4 p.m.

This half-day conference is an opportunity for individuals with brain injury, family members and loved ones to participate in workshops and sessions that focus on innovations in the world of brain injury care, therapy and rehabilitation.

There is no cost to attend this conference. To register, please call 612-378-2742 or 1-800-669-6442. Any requests for reasonable accommodations must be received by October 23.

Upcoming Opportunities for Public Policy Input
Town Hall Forum - Please join us on Monday, October 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. at our Burnsville Town Hall Forum co-hosted by the Fairview Ridges Young Adult Stroke Support Group, the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance and the Minnesota Stroke Association. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about brain injury and stoke issues and to share your personal story and concerns with local legislators. Metro Mobility - If you have concerns or suggestions about Metro Mobility Services attend their Fall Community Conversation on Thursday, October 29 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Oxboro Library in Bloomington (8801 Portland Avenue South.) This event will focus on hearing feedback and suggestions about Metro Mobility services.

Brain Injury Educational Classes
The Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance offers a variety of educational classes - including our monthly Brain Injury Basics class - for families, individuals and professionals in the Twin Cities. Our educators can also train your staff on-site at your facility with our Traveling Workshops.

Brain Injury Basics

Registration is required for all classes. Brain Injury Basics takes place in the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance offices in Roseville from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Cost is $25 for professionals; a $5 donation is appreciated from consumers.

Lunch and Learn Seminars with Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance
Are you ready to have lunch and learn AND get your CEUs? The Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance is offering Lunch and Learn Seminars at our offices in Roseville that are targeted for Social Workers and Social Service Professionals.

Sessions will take place on November 11 and December 8.

Classified Ad - University of Minnesota Research Study
Katy O'Brien, MA CCC-SLP, a PhD student at the University of Minnesota, is recruiting people with moderate or severe traumatic brain injuries for a study examining how we remember to do things in the future compared to how we remember things that have already happened. The purpose of the study is to compare how people with and without traumatic brain injuries think about their memory. This includes one approximately 3 to 4 hour session playing a computer game and completing standardized testing.
