An Evening with Bennet Omalu
Dr. Bennet Omalu, subject of the upcoming motion picture Concussion starring Will Smith, will serve as the next Inspiring Minds Speaker for Beth El Synagogue in Saint Louis Park. The Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance is proud to be Beth El's community partner for this installation.

Dr. Omalu was the first doctor to identify and name Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) as a major factor in the deaths of many professional athletes. He also identified a link between CTE and PTSD in veterans. Dr. Omalu will discuss his findings, his philosophies and his life growing up as a Nigerian refugee before attending medical school the age of 15 and becoming a physician at 21.

Citizen Advocate Academy at the State Capitol on February 9
Please join the Public Policy Department for our final Citizen Adovcate Academy before the 2016 legislative session begins on March 8. We have reserved a legislative hearing room in the State Office Building next to the State Capitol where we will discuss 2016 legislative strategy, hold a mock hearing and take a tour fo the new Senate Office Building. Lunch is provided to those who register.

The Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance offers a variety of educational classes - including our monthly Brain Injury Basics class - for families, individuals and professionals in the Twin Cities. Our educators can also train your staff on-site at your facility with our Traveling Workshops.

Registration is required for all classes. Brain Injury Basics takes place in the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance offices in Roseville from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Cost is $25 for professionals; a $5 donation is appreciated from consumers.

Classified Ad Opportunities

This bi-weekly electronic publication is sent to more than 6,250 professionals, paraprofessionals and persons with brain injury and their families.

The cost to run a classified ad of up to 250 words is $20 for one edition or $30 for two editions. Ads must be submitted in electronic form to receive this rate. Ads submitted in hard copy will be charged an additional $15 administrative fee.
