2018 Annual Conference
The 2018 Annual Conference for Professionals in Brain Injury will be held on April 12 and 13 at the Earle Brown Heritage Center in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. Dr. Karen McAvoy and Dr. Michael McCrea, will be presenting our keynote presentations on Thursday and Friday mornings. A plenary with Dr. Marilyn K. Clark Silva and Lois McElravy will be held in the afternoons. There will also be 24 breakout sessions, vendor and sponsor booths, and plenty of networking and learning opportunities.

Support Group Facilitator Training
The Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance will present an education session about Support Group Facilitation. Topics will include:
• How to start a support group
• Benefits of a support group
• Best practices
• Facilitator(s) and group guidelines
• How to finance a support group
• Information about Resource Facilitation department


Cost is $20 and CEU's are available.

Caregiver Advocacy and Resource Education
The Minnesota Stroke Association in collaboration with the State of Minnesota Department of Human Services Live Well at Home Grant will present education sessions about caregiving through the Caregiver Advocacy and Resource Education (CARE) Program. The program will also include 30 minutes of social time for caregivers to connect and benefit from the experience, skills, and wisdom of other caregivers.

Brain Injury Educational Classes
The Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance offers a variety of educational classes - including our monthly Brain Injury Basics class - for families, individuals and professionals in the Twin Cities. Our educators can also train your staff on-site at your facility with our Traveling Workshops.

Brain Injury Basics:
Introduction: March 22
Adjustment to Brain Injury: April 26

Registration is required for all classes. Brain Injury Basics takes place in the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance offices in Roseville from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Cost is $25 for professionals; a $5 donation is appreciated from consumers.

Administrative Volunteer Opportunities
The Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance and the Minnesota Stroke Associate are looking for Administrative Volunteers. The Administrative Volunteers help directs calls, maintain an accurate database, fulfill information requests and completes other administrative projects at the office. We offer a flexible schedule but ask for a minimum commitment of four to eight hours per week. The opportunity is available Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Classified Ad Opportunities
We are pleased to provide an online opportunity for organizations to broadcast their message about job openings, services and more through affordable, convenient advertising. This bi-weekly electronic publication is sent to more than 7,500 professionals, paraprofessionals and persons with brain injury and their families.

The cost to run a classified ad of up to 250 words is $20 for one edition or $30 for two editions. Ads must be submitted in electronic form to receive this rate. Ads submitted in hard copy will be charged an additional $15 administrative fee.
