Events

The Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance hosts several events for the general public and professionals who support individuals affected by brain injury in an effort to create a supportive community.

Annual Events:



Each March is Brain Injury Awareness Month through Minnesota and the rest of the United States. We can take the 31 days of March and celebrate the journey, recognize all of the obstacles people have overcome, and recognize the losses people have experience and we can work towards creating better support and communities for people with brain injury.

The 2016 Annual Conference for Professionals in Brain Injury was held on April 14 and 15, 2016 at the Earle Brown Heritage Center in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. Kim Gorgens, PhD from the University of Denver and Jeffrey Kreutzer, PhD from the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center, presented our keynote presentations. Audrey Nelson, MS, CSW, from the Brain Injury Alliance of Wisconsin and Brandon and Tiffany Verzal from the Nebraska Child Abuse Prevention Fund Board presented Thursday and Friday afternoon plenary sessions.

In 2016, the Consumer and Family Conferences will take place on Saturday, June 4 and Saturday, November 14 at New Life Presbyterian Church in Roseville.

The 2016 Walk for Thought will take place on Saturday, September 17 at four locations around Minnesota:

  • Duluth - Canal Park
  • Rochester - Silver Lake West Pavilion
  • Saint Cloud - CentraCare Health Plaza
  • Twin Cities - Long Lake Regional Park in New Brighton

Registration will be available in early June.
