Walk for Thought Volunteers

Volunteer at the Walk for Thought

Greeters: We need friendly individuals to welcome all of our walkers to the Walk for Thought. These volunteers will be the initial contact for all walkers joining us. These volunteers will also direct walkers to the registration tables, answer logistical questions, and offer a welcoming smile.

Water Table: We need to keep our walkers hydrated during the three miles of the Walk. There will be two water tables, one near the beginning of the Walk and one in the middle. Volunteers at this station will hand out refreshing water to all of our thirsty participants.

Refreshment and Food Table: Walking three miles will make people hungry! We need a few volunteers to make sure that food, juice, and coffee are readily available for all participants at the Walk. If you like seeing a person's face light up, hand them a delightful refreshment.

Cheerleaders: Do you like to motivate people? If you do, this is where you belong. Our cheerleaders will be placed along the three mile route holding signs, clapping, and cheering for our walkers. Come by yourself or with a group of friends, make signs, and create cheers to help add some spirit to the Walk for Thought.

Preparation or Cleanup Crew: If you would like to help lay the foundation for a wonderful day of walking, join the preparation crew.

The cleanup crew will help with the effects after the walkers leave. If you would like to help us finish strong than join our clean up crew.

Kid's Corner: Are you a creative, fun, high-energy person? There will be plenty of kids at our Walk for Thought and we would like to make it a fun learning experience for them. So if you enjoy being with kids then your help is needed to organize games and activities at the Kid's Corner.

Photographers: We need professional and amateur photographers to volunteer their talents.

Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance Booth: Many walkers will be seeking information about the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance and what resources are available to them. We need individuals here to hand out information and talk with people about the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance.

Walk Teams and Captains: We need teams of walkers and team captains to help us raise funds in order to support the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance. In return this will help the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance, in providing services for roughly the 100,000 Minnesotans who live with a disability due to a brain injury and the family/ friends affected by brain injury. Visit our Walk for Thought Web page or call the Association at 612-378-2742 or 800-669-442.

Volunteer opportunities are available at the Duluth, Rochester, Saint Cloud and Twin Cities Walk For Thought locations.

For more information about any of these opportunities contact Nancy at the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance 612-378-2742 or 800-669-6442.
