Breakout Session Tracks
This year we are adding something new to the Annual Conference layout: Tracks. These tracks will help you find the sessions that will be most beneficial for you. Each presentation comes with track designations to give you an idea of what audiences might best benefit from the session.
Tracks this year are as follows:
- Mental Health: This track addresses the complex relationship between brain injuries and comorbid cognitive conditions. Discussions will cover the psychological impact of brain injury, including conditions like depression, suicidal ideation, and post-traumatic stress disorder. It will highlight integrated care strategies for addressing mental health in brain injury rehabilitation.
- Rehabilitation: This track highlights the latest practices in the rehabilitation of brain injury survivors. It will cover the physical, occupational, and speech therapy, as well as emerging therapeutic approaches. Sessions will explore how these strategies can enhance recovery and improve functionality among survivors.
- Youth Focused: This track is dedicated to the unique challenges experienced by those with a pediatric brain injury. Sessions will cover age-specific considerations for diagnosis, treatment, and long-term recovery. Topics include adverse childhood experiences, bicycle accidents, and brain injury in early life.
- Social Services: This track focuses on the critical role of social service workers in supporting survivors of brain injury and their families. Presentations will explore resources for social reintegration, ambiguous loss, strategies for improving care, and many more.
- Public Health: This track examines the broader implications of brain injury, focusing on prevention, policy, and population-level care. Discussions will center around brain injury awareness, safety initiatives, and health campaigns, as well as the impact of brain injury on the healthcare systems and society at large.
- Research Focused: This track focuses on the latest scientific advancements and clinical studies related to brain injury. Experts will present cutting-edge research, and discuss promising therapies. It is aimed at professionals interested in evidence-based approaches, and experimental interventions.
Choose whichever sessions you like; there is no requirement to follow a certain track. In fact, many of our sessions have multiple tracks associated with them. We hope these tracks provide a helpful structure to navigate the many offerings at this year's conference.
