Town Hall Forums
Join the Brain Injury Association of Minnesota for an empowering and educational Town Hall Forum and help advance the lives of individuals with disabilities. You will learn how the 2009 legislative session impacts Minnesotans with disabilities and you will gain valuable advocacy tools. You also will have the opportunity to speak directly to your legislators about your challenges and successes living with brain injury.

The Rochester Area Brain Injury Community Committee (BICC) will present its 11th Conference on Brain Injury on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at the Ramada Conference center in Rochester. More information to follow.

Mayo Clinic Course on Cognitive Rehabilitation
The Mayo Clinic will be presenting Cognitive Rehabilitation: Focus on Function on Saturday, September 26 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Gonda Building, Subway Level at the Geffen Auditorium in Rochester. This seminar will provide the attendee with practical information on assessment and treatment of individuals with acquired brain disorders through cognitive rehabilitation in the outpatient setting. Call for Speakers Bureau Presenters
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, falls are the leading cause of brain injury. Each year, 1.6 to 3.8 million sports/recreation-related concussions occur in the United States. The Brain Injury Association of Minnesota Speakers Bureau program is looking for individuals willing to speak to groups about their personal story of brain injury as it relates to falls or a sports/recreation related concussion. Classified Ad - Apartment living for people with a brain injury and/or physical disability
Each resident in Accessible Space Inc’s (ASI) Assisted Living Service has their own apartment. Staff are available 24 hours a day to assist with physical care, provide medication reminders, and monitor health and safety issues. Housing is subsidized at the six locations in the Twin Cities, Rochester and Grand Rapids. Medical assistance funding pays for services at these sites with a Class F Home Care license. We also have opportunities for Adult Foster care in Shared Living Homes where accessible housing is subsidized. Rent is about 30 percent of their income so residents generally have more spending money. Locations in the Twin Cities and surrounding suburbs.
