Strides for Stroke

The Minnesota Stroke Association's 2012 Strides for Stroke 3.0 Fitness Walk/Run will take place on Saturday, May 12 in Saint Paul's Como Park. Case Management Position Opening at the Brain Injury Association of Minnesota
Primary Duties:
The Case Manager is responsible for monitoring and implementing comprehensive proactive; consumer directed systems of support and advocacy for individuals, including all ages and cultures, which have survived brain injury and their families through implementation of case management for effective community integration. The Case Manager will be responsible to assist the consumer in planning and accessing housing, financial supports and other community services and supports needed to accomplish this goal in accordance with Local; State; and Federal regulations. Bi-lingual/bi-cultural is a plus.

Seven open vacancies in Traumatic Brain Injury Advisory Committee
The Traumatic Brain Injury Advisory Committee provides recommendations to the Minnesota Department of Human Services on program development and concerns about health and human service needs for persons with traumatic brain injuries. The Committee is currently filling seven member vacancies. Potential committee members include people with brain injuries; family members of people with brain injuries; representatives of the brain injury provider group; acute care hospital; acute rehabilitation hospital; post acute rehabilitation; community based services; people who represent children's interests; representatives of federal, state and local government; representatives of religious, charitable, fraternal, civic, educational, legal, veteran, welfare, and other professional groups and organizations. The full committee meets 6 times a year - currently on the second Thursday of each month. Steering committees meet on the second Thursday of each month. Subcommittees meet as they determine. Meetings are held at 1645 Energy Park Drive, St. Paul, MN 55108. If you are interested in a position on the TBI Advisory Committee, please contact Jodi Greenstein.

Mayo Clinic's 19th Annual Brain Injury Conference
The 2012 Brain Injury Conference will feature a variety of dynamic keynote speakers who will discuss topics including sports concussions, care of the traumatic brain injury patient in the acute setting, yoga and brain injury treatment, and a personal story of survival and success after brain injury. Classified Ad Opportunities

This bi-weekly electronic publication is sent to more than 5,500 professionals, paraprofessionals and persons with brain injury and their families.

The cost to run a classified ad of up to 250 words is $20 for one edition or $30 for two editions. Ads must be submitted in electronic form to receive this rate. Ads submitted in hard copy will be charged an additional $15 administrative fee.
