Advocacy Matters – Join us at the Minnesota State Capitol
What happens over the next couple months of the 2013 Minnesota Legislative Session is incredibly important. State policymakers will be setting the Minnesota state budget for the next two years and making critical decisions that will impact all of us. We need your help sharing the real life stories of individuals and families affected by brain injury with state policymakers:

• Join us for a Tuesday at the Capitol to share your story with legislators, attend committee hearings, and work with other citizen advocates. 2013 Annual Conference for Professionals in Brain Injury
Online Registration is open! This year's conference will take place on Thursday and Friday, April 11 and 12, at the Earle Brown Heritage Center in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, and will feature several dynamic speakers who will cover a variety of topics related to community-based, education, cultural and medical aspects of brain injury care, services and supports.

Join professionals, caregivers, advocates and providers from around the state! Alan Weintraub, M.D., and Robert G. Winningham, Ph.D., will deliver the Thursday and Friday morning keynote addresses. Lance Corporal Kyle Anderson, USMC, Casey Linstad, CTRS, and Dave Schafer MS, will be presenting at the close of the 28th Annual Conference.

Brain Injury Support Group in Grand Rapids
Anyone living with a TBI or their caregivers are encouraged to attend the monthly TBI support group in the Community Meeting Room at the Central Square Mall in Grand Rapids. The idea of the meetings will be to meet, talk about ideas and problems with work, shopping, getting around or anything that we wish to discuss.

The next meetings will be April 8, May 13 and June 10 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. All future meetings will be held on the second Monday of each month.

Minnesota Specialty Health System (MSHS) is seeking a talented Behavioral Specialist with experience serving individuals with traumatic brain injury to provide leadership in delivering behavior modification treatment and planning. MSHS Brainerd provides specialized, sub-acute mental health care for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, traumatic/acquired brain injury, substance use disorders, neurocognitive disability, and neurobehavioral dysregulation.

The TBI Behavioral Specialist will be a valued member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, which focuses on providing holistic, cohesive, and innovative care. This rewarding position also works closely with clients, families, and communities. In addition to a comprehensive new employee orientation, we provide ongoing training and continuing education opportunities to keep our staff and organization on the leading edge of mental health care. Classified Ad: Sports Neuropsychology Society Symposium
This inaugural symposium sponsored by the Sports Neuropsychology Society is designed to meet the needs of physicians, athletic trainers, neuropsychologists, nurses, PAs, administrative personnel, and others interested in better understanding sports-concussions. We have assembled a truly exceptional group of speakers who will cover cutting edge advances in clinical practice and research.
