Citizen Advocate Spotlight
Congratulations to our Citizen Advocate, John "Coffeejon" Sherrell, recipient of the Minnesota Consortium for Citizens with Disabilities 2014 All-Star Advocate Award for his outstanding advocacy to improve the lives of people with disabilities. Coffeejon has become a constant presence at the Capitol since becoming a Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance Citizen Advocate in 2009. He rarely misses a Tuesday at the Capitol, Disability Day at the Capitol, Town Hall Forum or Citizen Advocate Academy Training session. During the 2014 legislative session Coffeejon came to the Capitol eight times to advocate for a five percent home and community based provider rate increase, increasing the MA income standard and mandating motorcycle personal injury insurance. Thank you for your hard work!
