Brain Injury Awareness Month
March is Brain Injury Awareness Month and the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance is joining the United States Brain Injury Alliance (USBIA) and its affiliates in encouraging individuals and families affected by brain injury to share their stories using #TBIaffectedme. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, an estimated 1.7 million people sustain a traumatic brain injury each year. Of those individuals, 52,000 die, 275,000 are hospitalized, and 1.4 million are treated and released from an emergency department.

To find out more about the #TBIaffectedme campaign, or to download resources and learn how to get involved, visit www.braininjurymn.org/events/bia-month.php and www.usbia.org/events/awareness. Help spread the word about brain injury this March and remember to use #TBIaffectedme to get the word out.
